Frequently Asked Questions

Who are the classes for?

I offer small-group tuition for 5th and 6th Year Leaving Certificate Maths students, including Higher and Ordinary Level classes, with a maximum of six students per class.

The Group Class page provides full details of the currently available classes so you can select the option that best suits your child.

How long are the classes?

Each class takes place live online for one hour every week.

Maths requires consistent practice, so students are also expected to complete independent study and question practice outside their weekly class.

A manageable amount of homework is provided to reinforce the material taught. Students can expect to spend approximately 1 hour per week completing homework, depending on their year group, topic and individual level.

Where do the classes take place?

All classes take place live online via Zoom, allowing students to attend from home.

What does my child need for the online classes?

Students will need a laptop, iPad or tablet, a reliable internet connection and access to Zoom. A digital pen or writing device can be helpful for completing Maths exercises online.

Full instructions for accessing classes, materials and online activities are provided after enrolment.

How many students are in each class?

Classes are limited to a maximum of six students.

Keeping the groups small allows me to give students individual attention, encourage participation and provide personalised guidance and feedback.

Will my child receive individual attention?

Yes. Students actively work through Maths questions during class and receive personalised guidance and feedback as they work.

Students are encouraged to participate but are never put under pressure to share their answers with the group. Personal work and feedback remain private between the student and teacher.

What materials do students receive?

Students receive materials appropriate to each lesson. These include exam-focused notes, worked examples and carefully selected practice questions.

Some lessons focus more heavily on guided question practice because applying Maths is an essential part of developing understanding and improving exam performance.

Are particular grades guaranteed?

No. Every student begins from a different starting point, and results depend on factors including attendance, prior knowledge, independent practice, effort and how consistently students apply the feedback and strategies they receive.

My role is to provide clear teaching, structured practice, expert guidance and ongoing support to help each student work towards their highest possible grade. I regularly receive positive feedback from parents and students about improvements in confidence, understanding and Maths results.

Is group tuition suitable for a student who lacks confidence?

Yes, provided the class is appropriate for the student’s current level and needs.

The small-group environment allows students to benefit from individual teacher support while also learning from the questions and approaches of other students.

Students are encouraged to participate but are not placed under pressure to ask questions or share answers publicly.

Can my child try a class first?

Yes. New students can use their first weekly class as a single trial class.

Full information about the current classes, payment options and subscriptions is available on the Group Class page.

What happens after the trial class?

Students who continue begin with the weekly subscription and then move to the monthly membership on the next monthly billing date.

A minimum one-month commitment applies after the trial class. As places in each class are strictly limited, ongoing membership is required to secure your child’s place and to support the progressive nature of the classes, where students build on their learning from week to week. To support students' progress and maintain continuity within each small group, I cannot accommodate sporadic attendance.

Please refer to the Group Class page for the current payment options and full subscription information. Further information can also be found in our Terms and Conditions.

How much are the classes?

Group classes are €49 each per class per week. Ongoing monthly memberships are €172 per month.

The monthly membership includes weekly live classes, class materials, guided question practice and ongoing personalised support, as well as progress updates and written feedback for parents at key points throughout the year.

Full payment and subscription details are available on the Group Class page.

What happens if the class we want is full?

Only classes with available spaces can be selected during registration.

Please check the Group Class page for current availability.

If the class you are interested in is currently full, please complete the Class Interest Form to join the waitlist. You will be contacted if a space becomes available.

What is your cancellation policy?

Subscriptions are automatically renewed. If you wish to cancel your subscription you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next subscription period. All monthly subscriptions are taken on the 1st of each month with the last payment taken for the academic year in May.

After registration parents can update, change or cancel their subscriptions easily within the student portal.

In cases of billing errors or other exceptional circumstances, please reach out through my Contact page.

Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information.

I also regularly run live masterclasses throughout the year. You can read more about them as I advertise them throughout the year here.
