Helping Students Understand the Maths,
Not Just Memorise It
Many students are far more capable at Maths than they realise.
They may understand a topic when it is explained in class, but struggle when an exam question looks unfamiliar. Others know the methods but find it difficult to work out what a question is asking or where to begin.
At LC Maths by Dr Áine Nolan, students develop a stronger understanding of key Maths concepts, apply their knowledge to exam questions and build the problem-solving skills they need to work more independently and confidently.
My small-group classes provide the support students need to make that progress.
Why choose my classes?
Expert Teaching
Every class is personally taught by me, Dr Áine Nolan, a PhD-qualified Maths educator with 15+ years’ teaching experience.
Weekly Live Tuition
Students attend a focused one-hour live class each week, providing the consistent and purposeful practice needed to make progress in Maths.
Maximum 6 Students
I limit every class to six students, allowing me to provide individual attention, encourage meaningful participation and give personalised feedback.
Exam-Focused Learning
My classes focus on the key topics and skills required for Leaving Certificate Paper 1 and Paper 2, with regular practice using exam-style and unfamiliar questions.
Individual Support
Each week, I provide tailored class materials, manageable homework and personalised feedback to reinforce learning and help students develop independent problem-solving skills between classes.
Parent Updates
I believe students make the best progress when parents, students and teachers work together. Parents receive regular updates and written feedback at key points throughout the year.
My goal is to reduce the stress around Maths and help students believe in themselves and what they are capable of achieving.

Hi, I'm Áine.
I’m a PhD-qualified Maths educator with more than 15 years’ teaching experience, including private Maths tuition, university teaching and undergraduate supervision, as well as delivering specialist professional training.
Over the years I've seen how quickly capable students can lose confidence when Maths has not been explained in a way that makes sense to them.
My teaching is clear, supportive and interactive, with a strong focus on helping students understand the Maths, build confidence and apply their knowledge to exam questions.
I personally teach every class, with a maximum of six students per group. This allows me to provide individual guidance while creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning from mistakes and making progress. I also provide exam-focused resources, available to purchase on my website.
